A great way to get on the water and paddle as a family group
Explore the coastal waters of Tofino (Tla-o-qui-aht territory) with a certified paddleboard guide, no experience necessary. Learn the basics of paddling on a SUP, play games, and explore.
Whats special about the family paddleboarding?
This is for children under 13 when accompanied by an adult and applies to our 2 hour, Paddleboard Tours.
Our focus is on having fun, learning paddling skills and connecting families to the natural environment around us.
Our go to location is the Tofino Inlet for our 2 hour SUP Tours.
This is because it’s the calmest spot for paddling in all of Tofino, there are no waves and it’s blocked from the winds, compared to the open ocean. Trip times for the inlet change, based on the high tide for the day.
The secondary location T’ashii paddles at is Mackenzie Beach, the daily paddle time is 10am. Mackenzie Beach is the calmest of the beaches around, most swells are blocked, although it’s not quite as calm as the Inlet for beginners. We depart at 10am daily because the winds are quite light still in the morning.
How our paddle boarding trips work
We meet at the T’ashii Paddle Shack (Located at 1258 Pacific Rim Hwy. – On the Right-hand side Jamie’s Rainforest Inn) at the Trip Time.
While at the office, we sign waivers, put on wetsuits and safety gear. from there we depart on our tour with the guide.
What you need
-Arrive with your bathing suit on, underneath your clothes. We have an outdoor change area only.
-Bring a towel for changing after the tour.
Restrictions and special considerations
We offer this family friendly tour as we find it’s a great way to connect families together while on vacation.
Youth/Children under 13 years old, need more attention than most adults and can hold up the group during a standard tour. Our focus during this tour, is connecting families to the natural environment through paddling.
We may end up having multiple families on tour, it isn’t a private tour. Click here for our Private Tour.
For Safety, we maintain a group ratio of 1 instructor to 6 guests.
