This course can also serve as a 40 hour first aid re-cert for students with a current first aid certification from any recognized first aid provider.
This fun and interactive 20-hour wilderness first-aid course is a must for anyone working or playing in the wilderness more than an hour away from medical aid. This course includes trip planning and preparation, adult, child and infant CPR (Level ‘C’), obstructed airway procedures, artificial respiration, use of an Automated External Defibrillator, prevention of disease transmission and wound management. Recognition and first-aid treatment for drowning/partial drowning, heart attack and stroke, allergic reactions and anaphylactic shock, hypothermia, heat stroke, bone, muscle and joint injuries, poisons, burns, diabetic emergencies, head and spine injuries, evacuation, transportation and extended care will also be covered.
40 hour Wilderness First Aid Certification is the standard for outdoor and wilderness adventure guides including assistant overnight sea kayak guides
Course covers CPR for adults, children and infants. Including patients experiencing chocking and CPR with the use of an AED.
3 year certification. First Aid and CPR training to help workplaces comply with both federal and provincial/territorial occupational health and safety legislation. Interactive 1 day course that teaches workers how to deal with the most common workplace first-aid emergencies.
3 year certification. Comprehensive two-day course offering first aid and CPR skills for those who need training for work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Course covers topics from basic (circulation and breathing emergencies, and prevention of disease transmission) to in-depth (sudden medical emergencies and injuries to the head and/or spine). This course is run in conjunction with the Marine Basic class, students also have the option to take the same class and receive a Standard First Aid certification rather than Marine Basic First Aid.
5 year certification. Comprehensive two-day course offering First Aid and CPR skills for marine/finishing industry. Course meets requirements outlined by Transport Canada.
